Hello Graystone,

how are you doing

Fair to middling, I suppose...

the EL KABONG!!! has me mystified

El Kabong!!! is from an old cartoon television series named "Quick Draw McGraw". Quick Draw (a cartoon horse in the old West with a badge) had a sidekick, a donkey named Baba Looey (who called his buddy "Queeks Draw" using his best Mexican English accent). Quick Draw was a likeable, yet incompetent, law"man" who battled robbers in every episode.

Roughly midway through the series, the writers ran out of fresh ideas for the programming, so they created a super hero alter-ego for Quick Draw, and that alter-ego was El Kabong!!!. Quick Draw would quickly don a mask and a cape (a la Zorro), and Quick Draw became the character El Kabong!!!. His weapon of choice was not the six-shooter that Quick Draw used, but rather was a guitar that he would wield as a weapon and bash it over the heads of the villains (making the sound KABONG in the process, hence the name El Kabong!!!). The El Kabong!!! schtick was a parody of Zorro. Except El Kabong!!! was no Zorro, and as incompetent as Quick Draw. No one was supposed to know that Quick Draw and El Kabong!!! were the same "person", except for the fact that Quick Draw always forgot to remove his badge before becoming El Kabong!!!, so everyone knew El Kabong!!!'s true identity.

See members.aol.com for a "photograph" of El Kabong!!!.

What exactly are you trying to say when you have a name like that ?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing...

EK!!!
