Mish, if we get a dollar bounce/continued oil drop, I expect airlines to outperform by virtue of the outsized short interest in them. For example, over 30% of AMR's float is short (ok less after today). Oil inventories do not support current prices, and you know my feelings about reversing what Greenspan said about the dollar, so I'd say this presents a good risk reward ratio. I've overleveraged myself accordingly. -g- Also, as I mentioned yesterday, shorting basic materials may also work for a while.

It was said many years ago, can't remember who ....

If you added up all the airlines since their beginning ....

"They have never made any money" ....

I remember most of the airlines that were born and re-born ....

And, how they were regulated and de-regulated ....

I think, maybe it's a miracle ANY of them still exist ....
