Mountain goats do fall, but not as often as you might expect considering their environment. They can be panicked by helicopters and such, which is why we had to keep well away from them on our vegetation inventory up in Alaska. Their hooves have a spongy core with a hard rind that seems to give them good traction.

Hooves for Pros, so to speak.
