I think I'm getting to the stage where I don't require as much sleep as I used to.

I remember reading an article years ago that explained a natural hormone we all have at birth that causes us to sleep. As we age, the drug is slowing used up. It was one explanation for the huge amount of sleep teens require. When humans start puberty, excess stores of this hormone are released and that accounts for the need.

My Dad could sleep just like a baby and required more sleep than normal for a full grown adult. He eventually got to the point, later in life, where he only required 4-5 hours a night.

I get along on 7 pretty well, but I think I still have some stored up sleep hormone left over from my toddler years? -gg-
