Yep. IMO, Bush and the RNC are so popular because they provide a facade of righteousness for fear, bigotry, and pure hatred. Whether it's blacks, gays, women in pants, furriners or whatever, there's a palpable fear in this country of light beige men losing control. That fear is well grounded in the demographics which say that, like downtown LA, caucasians will be a minority in this country in 50 years. This is the same kind of fear that permeates Israel where the demographics are working to make Jews a minority in a few years.
