My goodness, Al, have you been asleep since 1979? Iranian leaders starting with Khomenie of '79 repeatedly incite terror against the U.S. They repeatedly paint the U.S. as the great Satan and in just about every internal speech, they foment chants of "Death to America/Death to Israel". They have brainwashed an entire generation to believe that the greatest thing they can do for Allah is to strike out at the U.S. or Israel. They are actively pursuing nuclear weapons in order to gain more power with which to terrorize the U.S. and their neighbors. Rafsanjani and Khomenie's lifelong goal as been to "push Israel into the sea" or "wipe Israel off the map". Iranian mullahs have instituted a harsh theocracy that stifles any attempts at true democracy or reform. Freedom of the press or of ideas does not exist in Iran. Yeah, yeah, yeah...but what's the tangible consequence of that? Their people are more pro-America than they have ever been, there has been no act of terror against America or Americans since the mullah takeover, despite our concrete support of Saddam during a bloody Iraq/Iran war that killed and maimed a million of their citizens. So they hate Israel....whatelse is new? So do Saudis, Egyptians, Syrians and nearly everyone else in the region. Al
