Actually, I think any American leader could have done a better job in the execution of our Iraq goals than Bush. That is why I voted for Kerry. However, the good thing about the riches and power of a country like the U.S. is that we can afford to make a lot of mistakes and still come out victorious. Victory in Iraq to me means a freely elected, pluralistic goverment, not hostile to the U.S. or its neighbors. Victory also means an Iraqi armed forces that can defend the government and bringing our troops home and not leaving any "American advisors" behind in Iraq. We'll get there, but the insurgents are ensuring that this will drag on for at least several more years. It could have been done much more quickly, but hey, that's Muslims for you. If something is too easy, they'll make it difficult. Look at Arafat. There's a man who "never lost an opportunity to lose an opportunity". The Muslims need fewer popular leaders like that and like Zarqawi and Osama.
