"and yet WE are part of the problem????" 1) We approved all contracts (along with each Security Council member). 2) We demanded that smuggling through Jordan (our ally) be ignored. (Some 75% of all the oil moved through Jordan.) 3) We were also in charge of the naval blockade... the UN doesn't have a fleet. 4) A couple of Texas oil men profited big-time from their oil-for-food contracts, too. The fraud was spread around.
