I think you may think that Sharia and democracy can't coexist. This is not true. Democracy can exist even as Sharia laws are implemented. I can guarantee you if true democracy existed in Saudi Arabia for instance, that after a couple of years of Sharia law, people would start legislating against many of it's precepts. Honor killings, stoning women who have been raped, and many other outdated concepts would quickly fall by the wayside.

I am all for Muslims legislating whatever laws they want to within their own democracies. Then we can be sure that they are choosing the lifestyle they want for themselves. However, in a theocracy, you have a couple narrow-minded mullahs telling everyone in the country how they ought to live. This is oppression, which automatically translates into it must be the Americans' or Israelis' fault.

So what I want first and foremost is true democracy in all Muslims lands. Then they can choose for themselves how harsh they want their laws to be.

But if Muslims come to America, I certainly don't want them telling us that our constitution is a living document that they can mold to better reflect their beliefs. If Muslims don't like our lifestyle, then they should go back to the Middle East and create their own democracy there. Same goes for the Netherlands. I think even the world's most liberal society in the Netherlands has had just about enough of Muslims' abuse of their free speech laws. When one crosses the line of free speech into hate speech, that is when I believe it becomes a crime. Incitement that results in a crime is a crime itself.
