What I find unusual is the split notation is always there.

If one does a chart 2 years or greater then it includes the 20-Jun-03 date and the little triangle for splits

If you do a shorter chart, then the little split triangle is no longer on the chart, but the notation is still below.

It is explaining something that is prior to the chart timeframe.
