That has to be about the most ignorant posts I've seen on SI in some time. From 1900-1999, the GOP held the White House 53 out of 100 years. If you go by election years, it's 52/100.

As for the senate, from the 57th through the 106th Congress, or the elections of 1900 through 2000, the GOP was the majority party for 21 congresses compared to 29 for the Democrats. That 42% of the time, in case you're having as much trouble with math as you are with history.
