You and John are pretty certain that Americans are self-righteous. Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? The Muslims have the market cornered on self-righteousness and righteous indignation. They paint themselves as the quintessential victim of America's policies, even as they murder each other in cold blood, murder everyone around them in cold blood, and saw the heads off their victims. This concept may be alien to the both of you, but there are people in America that see this type of thing going on and get so sickened by it all, that they rise up and want to spend all their wealth on ensuring that this type of evil is stamped out. So is this war against terrorism costing America lots of money and blood? Yes! But we have no choice but to confront evil and destroy it, because evil by its very nature grows much worse if you let it fester.
