SAMIRA PRODUCES OVER 9,000 OUNCES OF GOLD IN SECOND MONTH OF COMMISSIONING

Etruscan Resources Inc. and Semafo Inc. advise that the Samira Hill gold mine produced 9,236 ounces of gold and 362 ounces of silver in the second month of commissioning. This brings the total metal produced at the Samira Hill mine to over 18,000 ounces of gold and 630 ounces of silver since the commissioning began on Sept. 25, 2004.

During the commissioning phase, the plant has achieved 90 per cent of the targeted throughput for the oxide ore, with throughput for the month of November exceeding 143,000 tonnes. To date, plant operations have required significantly less consumables (cyanide, lime and peroxide) than called for in the feasibility study. If this trend continues, significant savings in the operating costs are expected to be achieved.

Samira Hill is operated under the Nigerian company Societe des Mines du Liptako (SML) S.A. SML is owned 80 per cent by African GeoMin Mining Development Corp. Ltd. and 20 per cent by the State of Niger. AGMDC is in turn owned by Etruscan (50 per cent) and Semafo (50 per cent).
