If this is satisfactory, we can eliminate the Ticker symbols from company specific subject titles, as time permits.

In some cases threads with specific tickers were started and later abandoned, when new threads with new tickers were started, both or more for the same company. It would be nice for this to stay as is, for historical research reasons.

Unless of course I don't understand what you mean, in which case, nevermind.

Be very careful if messing with any of the search aspx's. Those are VERY easy to break and since the same aspx is used for PM searching, a level of paranoia has to be included in all edits.

Plus, for some reason, aspx doesn't like the statement

If rs("moderated") = "y" Then

What's up with that? Moderated is a 1 digit char field. (Should be a bit, but that's an inherited situation.)

Should work if rs is still open. Oh. And you have to make sure it's been read. Which should be the case if you're inside a do while rs.read() loop. Otherwise, you'll have to do an rs.read() before the record will be available to aspx.

Edit: You modified the the appropriate part of the SELECT string to get the "moderated" field, right? And it's a field name used in only one of the joined tables?

Now I guess we'll see if it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. <g>

I'll go easy on you until:

1. I ever affix a signature to a check with your name on it.

2. You make a mistake that negatively impacts the site.

3. You make a stylistic or logic "mistake" that causes me extra work or confusion (easily induced) when I later look at the code.

4. You edit something the same time I'm editing it and cause me to lose 3 days' worth of changes. You'll be able to hear the scream from down there and it'd probably be a good time to go get lei'd again. <g>

(for the benefit of the easily offended, Dave recently vacationed/worked in Hawaii)
