Kim Jong-Il ousts brother-in-law, 'clique' of 7-8 generals
S. Korea's spy agency has confirmed that Jang Song-Taek, brother-in-law of N. Korean leader Kim Jong-II, has been purged, along with several generals, in a power struggle over who would be the country's next leader. "We understand that Jang Sung-Taek was purged for 'sectarian behavior' such as creating his own clique within the military," the National Intelligence Service said in a report submitted to the National Assembly's Intelligence Committee. "We know that seven or eight generals who were part of Jang's faction were also removed."
