Although I'll never collect a penny of SS, I certainly am enjoying being retired since age 55. If I had to wait until 70 I'd collect nothing from no one as daisy pushing woulds be my only activity. As it is the 36 qtrs I paid into years ago are a gift to SS. Actually, my father and his 4 brothers never collected any SS as they died between 58 & 61. Only 2 widows collected -- one still and another for less than a year. Retiring at 70 or 75 is for those with no life outside work. That is fine for them, but many want to travel, be wityh family, & etc. At 70 or 75 many of those would be in a home have food stuffed down their gullet and diapers changed instead. Choices! I began working at age 12, 43 years was enough.
