FWIW--- Bronson Parachute I pulled this off Yahoo this evening... Looks like $1.4M will keep Bronson from going to LAM or Novellus for at least 12 months...

Applied Materials (nasdaq: AMAT - news - people ) will pay former chief financial officer $1.4 million as part of a separation agreement, according to SEC documents filed after today's trading session. The company agreed to pay Joseph R. Bronson in four cash installments between Dec. 31 to and Oct. 31, 2005 in exchange for a one-year non-competition agreement from Bronson and "a general release of all claims related to his employment with Applied," according to SEC filings. Bronson resigned on Oct. 22. Applied Materials shares rose 39 cents, or 2.20%, to $17.89.
