Mercedes (Daimler-Chrysler) has a plant in Alabama, BMW has one in South Carolina, and the Japanese are all over.

$13.10 is pretty good money in parts of Alabama and South Carolina. Beats Wal Mart at $9.00 or $10.50.

With enough jobs, that $13.10 can move to $14.00 or more.

The "strong dollar" has helped export an excessive number of jobs since the mid 1990s.
