A little more complex than that, Mq. The Bloody and Greedy Finns set a psychological stage where tomorrow's technological goodies were on their way to Yurope sooner than you can blink an eye. And, by golly, good ol' 'merricun Q was going to not get its due, either. What could be finer than to spit in the US's eye and have the finest telecom and rail systems on the face fo the globe? Well, you and I know what really happened. But the value wasn't created by Q. There was value in the spectrum, alright, though it wasn't nearly as much as the carriers thought it was thanks to Nokia blowing up the bubble with promises of millions of WCDMA sets by '02. Heck, the silly twits thought they could cut Q out of the deal. But I digress. I suppose the value was an illusion, though the cash paid wasn't. I hope the governments used the funds wisely, though you know, or at least strongly suspect, that they didn't. Ah, big deal. It all ultimately comes out in the wash. We both know that Q and CDMA are poised to take over the world. You and I and anyone else [it's not too late!] who has any sense to buy and hold Q will be rich as Croesus. Your beloved phragmented spread spectrum electrical phragments will be on their merry way, pilot codes at the forefront, and the Q's money machine will ring away day and night. The silly Yuropeeans' will go back to living in their nation-sized museums and doll houses, trying to figure out why it is that the Americans have once again outwitted them.
