Thank you for posting these last few articles. The last one
Dining with the Rhinos is fabulous. How many of us identify with the author's final paragraph.

Thanks James

For posting this commentary. I think I will take it over to the "Feelies" thread where a discussion of liberalism and conservatism is going on. If that is okay.

Incredible article. Thanks. I need to print that out for mailing some folks, and find the play. I can hear the old country song, "The South will rise again", playing in the background with some unpleasant laughter to go with it.

"Judging from the run-of-the-mill American liberals I see here in the Washington D.C. area"

It is a great rant but this is where the train flies off the tracks. I lived in Pentagon City and worked in D.C. for six years, and the liberals he is talking about are anything but run-of-the-mill.

I was actually registered as a republican for several years due to the disgust with the culture there. It is an aggressive, in-your-face, yield-or-perish type of political orthodoxy that is deeply offensive to a lot of people. It was impossible to have a difference of opinion about anything ... those who failed to toe the line must submit to re-education.

I gave up on the whole thing sometime during the mandatory aids seminar when the woman conducting it explained how saran wrap could, in an emergency, be used as a substitute for a condom while performing fellatio.
