Boeheim rejoices over Va. Tech's football title Switching from hoops to football, Boeheim noted Virginia Tech's 16-10 victory over Miami on Saturday, which gave the Hokies the Atlantic Coast Conference title and a Bowl Championship Series bid. "I'm glad the Big East won the ACC football championship this year," Boeheim said. "I thought that was nice. It just goes to prove we were by far the better football league and they said they were the better football league for the last 10 years. "I'm sure the coaches at Wake Forest and Georgia Tech and Clemson are really happy that Miami and Virginia Tech are in there, so instead of finishing third, fourth and fifth they can finish fifth, sixth and seventh," he said. "I'm sure those coaches are happy and the extra money the schools get will be nice when they're working as assistant coaches someplace else."
