More than a billion Muslims have never done anything violent in their life? I think your math is off. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the whole world, the majority of which live in the Middle East, which is a very violent and barbaric place. If you think Muslims in the Middle East are peaceful, read this: memri.org Amy, this is not a fringe phenomenon. It is painted as fringe by people who are trying so hard to be tolerant and respectful of another religion. I understand this desire to be tolerant. But every few decades an evil arises in a guise which makes it difficult for good citizens like yourself to respond adequately to it. The evil that has arisen this time around has come in the guise of a religion. Unfortunately, most Western countries have raised their citizens to be very tolerant of all religions and to respect free speech and differences between people. That has culminated in a Western taboo of speaking out against a religion. Islamic clerics and other agitators are abusing Western laws, tolerance, and free speech to recruit jihadis and incite them to violence within our midst. I'm purposefully breaking in the harshest of ways that Western taboo of being politically incorrect towards a religion, in order to help people, at least on these threads, wake up to the fact that the Islamic religion has taken a very dangerous turn. It will not go away and it cannot be ignored. This trend is mainstream. You can't tell me it's fringe when Muslims throughout the Middle East were cheering in the streets and handing out candy when they found out we were attacked on 9/11. You can't tell me it's fringe when you look around the world and 95% of the flashpoints are Muslims fighting other groups of people. You can't tell me it's fringe when Muslim mothers are proud of the fact that their sons are committing suicide with the one goal of killing as many infidels as possible. You can't tell me it's fringe when the textbooks used to teach Muslims youth in the Middle East are filled with hatespeech against Western countries and Israel. You can't tell me it's fringe when Muslim clerics spend most of their weekly sermons in mosques exhorting the faithful to violence against Western countries instead of preaching peace and tolerance. Islam is broken and it is bringing the world to the brink of chaos. Those of us who have the will need to fight back either with the gun or with the keyboard. And the first step to winning this war is to unequivocably name the enemy.
