hi scooter -

yes, i had that feeling also
... like he's had a hard life.

that is often the case with super
creative people i think. they seem
to carry the weight of the world
somehow.

on a lighter note .....

whilst i was raking the last of the
suborn leaves this afternoon - which
took a couple of hours - my neighbour
bob, was stringing christmas lights on
his trees. and we chatted. he said
that he knows those trees so well now
- branch for branch after so many years
of stringing lights.

i told him that i left my lights on the
tree all year long and when i finished
raking, i got the extension cord, wove it
thru the shrubbery to our tree and plugged
it in. voilà - LIGHTS!

when i left, he was still muttering to
himself <vbg>

and i told him i used indoor mini lights
too and they've been on that tree for
years.

you had to be there <s>

Scott,

<, I sure wish he had more joy in him.>

That's an interesting observation. He's always been that way. I suppose many of the great poets were tortured people.
