Bubbles need to be popped to save these cities

i was just listening to the local radio and they were describing a "good government" action where the city spent $17 million to protect 175 homes in the 100yr flood plain. so $100K per home to protect 175 homes with technology that may or may not work. and there are 7000 more homes in the flood plain, so they may need to float another $700 million to do it.

at least it'll probably keep them from building a pro-sports stadium to "revitalize" the local economy.
