In LA, cold is definitely NOT a problem. He whined about it here and we were still in the 50s and 60s. (the cold, not his finger).

He wore an arm cast for a week, then a hand cast, and then this finger cast for two months with therapy.

The surgery was done at Cedars Sinai by a "plastic surgeon to the stars". The scar isn't bad at all, and the finger is now only slightly stiff and a little crooked. I think it lacks the strength it had; he noticed it rockclimbing.
