I am for truth also but it doesnt surprise me if little has changed in the military because little has changed in the culture. We were all ready to buy dan rathers stuff as truth until the NYTimes finally bailed on him. Why should i be surprised that the military is spin city as well. Now i have not read the articles but isnt it possible that some lower level folks saw some political advantage here and that higher ups did the right thing without much delay?
By the way has anyone noticed the change of tone in the mideast among Israel, Palesine, Egypt and even do i dare say it, Hamas. Mussharif keeps saying it too. Peace in the mideast is the key to ending Terror. I know there are other resentments in the area both real and imagined but a fair settlement and happy palestinians go a long way i think. Also the iraq thing must be settled post election even if we go to end dates and three states as the least bad solutions. Neolib was dead wrong when he said we have no choice but to continue. I learned in business along time ago about how important it is to cut ones losses and let ones profits run. I can live with three more stans and leave border defense to iran backed shiaa and US backed kurds. And whats wrong with my good friend suns suggestion about the syrians giving the iraq sunnis a new baath in a combo state, hold the mayo. mike
