I have been in enough organizations to know that such aspects are highly exaggerated. Even in small committees, no "group mind" emerges: the work is principally done by one or two members of the committee, and is stamped with their personalities and decisions. The rest rubber stamp, make minor amendments, or complete tasks assigned to them by the "movers". Even with some pressure towards consensus, there are factional disputes and sheer personal differences that disrupt "groupthink". Most organizations find collegiality very hard to come by, and hire expensive consultants to try to promote it.
