I think one of the more troubling things in Saudi Arabia is the hatred of the US by the Saudi public. We have a better relationship with the royal family, but they have a habit of playing both sides and are prone to condone the vilification of the US by Muslim clerics as a distraction to their own opulence. Currently the monarchy has over 4000 princes, many of which support terrorist charities. They routinely have public beheadings and by modern standards most would consider them barbarians. Till this point we have been able to do business with the royal family, but it is questionable how long the monarchy will last in a country they have essentially looted.
