MILITARY -- SOLDIERS SUE OVER STOP-LOSS: The New York Times reports eight U.S.
soldiers currently serving in Iraq and Kuwait will file a lawsuit today in
federal court in Washington " challenging the Army policy known as stop-loss
(http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/06/national/06soldiers.html?ex=1259989200&en=658c61635ae9b99b&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland)
." Marketed as a policy to "promote continuity within deployed units," the Army
last spring mandated that "if a soldier's unit is still in Iraq or Afghanistan,
that soldier cannot leave even when his or her enlistment time runs out. Since
then, a handful of National Guardsmen who received orders to report for duty in
California and Oregon have taken the policy to court, but the newest lawsuit is
the first such challenge by a group of soldiers." The policy being challenged by
the eight soldiers "has barred thousands of soldiers from leaving Iraq this year
even though the terms of enlistment they signed up for have run out."

You are foolish to think that 48 million of us will sit back and watch Bush make more mistakes on top of the ones he's already made during his first 4 years. Iraq is slowly but inexorably moving to civil war. American soldiers are dying and getting maimed in increasing numbers. The economy continues to flounder.......inflation is creeping up. Mr. Bush is hell bent on dismantling our environmental laws and continues to ignore the threat of global warming at the world's peril. He is the worst president of my lifetime and you expect me to maintain my silence. You've got to be kidding!

You forgot the soaring deficit.... the inclusion of religion with State in using his God identification with even... the Army Navy football game. Too much with his statement The US won, God won...

God help us all..

You said:

What's particularly galling about Fox is its tabloidy formula. If I were on the right, I would be embarrassed that the number one media respresentative for my political persuasion is so unprofessional.

If Fox represented my persuasion, I might consider it, but since Fox is the only fair and balanced network, and they represent the middle, I don't have to claim them as my own. For some reason you like to beleive that Fox is far right, when this is irreconcilable with the facts.

There is nothing desperate about my beliefs. I am very comfortable with my position. History has taught us that the red voters do not lead well and are slow to advance....slavery, segregation, anti abortion etc. are all cut from a very old cloth that does not weather well over time.

There is the desperation. The "other side" must be stupid. Get over it. Conservatives are not brain dead demented inbred hicks. The fact that you prefer to insult rather than engage demonstrates your disassociation from reality.

You really do not understand how a democracy works. Besides, you do not allow the president or leader of a corp. or org. to make one mistake after another and say nothing.

This country is a republic, not a democracy. Neither I, nor anyone is asking you to shut up while the leader of the free world is making mistake after mistake. What we are asking of you is to stop whining and desperately trying to manufacture lies about his performance out of whole cloth.

President Bush is the President now. Of course you will blame him for any structural problems that exist regardless of whose watch the problems were created on. That is the nature of partisans. The precious environmental laws you claim he is dismantling were so precious that they needed to wait until the last hours of Clinton's term to be ordered. You wear your hypocrisy on your sleeve. I thought you were alive during the Clinton years; IMO he was the worst President of my life. He brought disgrace on the office and his party. You can blame your Democrat problems on whomever you wish. Clinton and the ethical gymnastics the Democrat party tired to perpetrate on the populous is the root cause of your problems.
