Missed Dylan. Did you ever see the documentary "Don't Look Back"? About a tour of England. Bob tells a gargoyle from Time that he is a greater singer than Caruso. The gargoyle from Time looks like he has been handed a live electrical wire. But it is too easy to demure, even though Dylan was an almost perfect singer for the kind of "Highway 61" blues, folk, r and b, roots rock, rockabilly stuff that he performed. Of course, now his sinuses are shot from cocaine, and it is harder to get the right sound. But in the day, he had one of the great voices in rock, along with Ray Charles, Neil Young, Levon Helm, Tom Waits, and others who served it up RAW...... Yes, it might not work. But you are wrong about the expense. If we do not leave on terms of accomplishment, we will pay for it. It is not just a sense of obligation about cleaning up the mess, though that factors in. It is knowing that the enemy is looking for some kind of propaganda victory, like claiming to drive us out of Iraq before we have dealt them a decisive blow.......
