I have read that plastic surgeons are reluctant to perform elective surgery on smokers, because of problems with wound healing.

Wound healing is something we take for granted, especially when we're young, but it's sort of a miracle to me now. I am taking medication to enhance insulin sensitivity since I came down with Type II diabetes, and my wound healing is about what it used to be when I was young. Slower wound healing crept up on me, like a lot of other things. My "liver spots" are fading! And skin tags shrinking!

Well, I am also using a C-PAP this year and getting much better sleep, which may also explain it.
