To what domestic threats, are you referring?
Jim Crow was basically passed by populist Democrats in the South, and Anti Asian (and to an extent Anti Hispanic) laws were championed by Progressives in the West. I have no idea who was responsible for "Blue Laws", but I would guess that both Democrats and Republicans weren't out front against them.
