Again, Amy, by contributing the $1K to your personal savings account under the Bush plan, you DO NOT lose the majority of your social security payout. His plan will reduce your SS payout by What the $1K would have grown into using their 2% per year growth rate. So again, it is a net win for you and me. Just not as much of a net win as we'd like to see with a complete privatization of SS. But again, Democrats would never allow that.

I belive that many conservatives are trying to tie the dismantling of social security to the dismantling of all forms of income tax. That way wealth can be accumulated in secret.
