Our gov't hides alot, but the Bush Admin has brought the SS problems into the limelight. We should try to support him to give him the best chance of reforming this doomed system.

There will be a lot of Democratic Economists that will be wondering what the hell has Krugman done by minimizing the problem.

Krugman is telling us to fund the GD thing and quit whining about it. A socially responsible society owns up to its obligations to its elders. Another small increase in FICA contributions, repeal the tax cuts, raise the income limits, these are all affordable things that can be done to keep benefits at a reasonable level.
