What do you base that on? Don't you even know these are the guys that predicted no deficits, for goodness sake to make Bush look good. Get a clue - they are bush cronies. How many economists in DC do you know? RE: "Paul's piece is not a dissertation" It absolutely is. Go back and reread my post. Do you think I'm lieing? Do you think you have more info than me? Exactly who do you know inside SSA that makes you think you have better info than me, huh? Pray tell. Because you don't. Face it. Go back and reread my post. It is a GREAT DISSERVICE TO MINIMIZE THE PROBLEM. Oh wait, let me guess, you must be a boomer here, that explains it. RE: "The start up costs of private accounts are staggering" Where were you yesterday? Go back and reread the posts from yesterday. NONE of us on the thread like Bush's proposal but ALL of us on the thread like Graham's proposal because Graham's proposal PAYS for the transition cost. While you were out and asleep, we've already figured this all out. So go back and reread the posts. John Fowler posted it. If you need a link, just ask me. But read it please. RE: "You can deal with SS or you will deal with staggering national debt " You are wrongly thinking this thread is advocating Bush's proposal. Everyone agreed yesterday that Graham's proposal is golden (similar to Bush's but without the transition cost because he pays for it all through FICA cap removal). You are one day late on this thread, so go back and reread the posts before you jump to wrong conclusions like you have. This country needs to work on BOTH the deficit and SS. By wrongly pretending there is no SS problem, you completely show no respect to the next generation. Go back and reread the posts. I think all of this discussion simply boils down to how you missed one day's worth of posts. Dig up John Fowler's post on Graham's proposal. It's golden. Regards, Amy J
