RE: "the CBO projected a $540B deficit earlier in the year" Alighieri, go back to the year they predicted NO deficits, go back to the year where there was a lot of shuffling around of economists. CBO is filled with bush cronies. Of course they predicted deficits the year before when it was SO obvious. But they sure hid them the first time around, even though a team of economists knew otherwise. Washington is filled with "hide the facts" to support Bush.
