The flow of black gold is very corrupting. It is interesting that the house of Saud appears to have massively succumbed to the corruption. It was made easier by the fact that the nation did not exist prior to the twentieth century. Britain made the most powerful and brutal sheik ruler of a huge amount of sand. I doubt if anyone knew how much oil wealth they were bequeathing to him.
