It is my understanding it doesn't work that way. These satellites transmit only when they're in certain places. In particular, I've been told they must be shut down within certain ranges of the equator so as not to interfere with other satellites. Something like that. Some engineer could surely know more about this.

I'm also not sure they can just start running them longer without adverse consequences.
