They are already "tagged". Call SS, give them your SS #, and ask for your statement.

First, they are not. SS is still running a surplus, as it has for years. It's not 'till 2050 something that we start to see a deficit.

Why do you think that makes it broken? Retirees are paying for peoples kid's education with their property taxes, is the property tax system broken?

It's a social compact, it keeps all our seniors fed and sheltered. It's there for everyone... even Bill Gates when he hits retirement age.
