Yes, and it will probably get worse. However, it is not against Islam, as the OBL types do not represent Islam. If he does we are in a lot more trouble than I thought

OBL does not represent Islam any more than Hitler represented Christianity. However, as is the case with all totalitarian movements, be they religious or political, a small, aggressive minority sets the agenda and the sheeple follow, either by failing to challenge the leaders because of fear or sheer lack of interest or by winking and nodding at their success.

Unlike you, I see no signs whatsoever of a Muslim reformation. Quite the contrary, actually, since our fight terror is inevitably seen in many quarters as a fight against Islam. This follows from the fact that OBL is enormously popular with many, many Muslims for his piety, scholarship, dignity, and humility. He is seen as a disciplined figure who could have lived a life of luxury yet decided to promote his religion by fighting, first, the godless Soviets, actually toppling them [a fantasy, of course] and now taking us, the cryptoZionists, on.

Our fight against him is a fight against Islam. This fight of course will impede Islamic reform as it is the sworn duty of every Muslim to defend his religion.

We are caught between Scylla and Charybdis.
