I wouldn't rule it out, but nobody sez those patterns have to repeat exactly. A retest of the multiyear breakout at 430 seems a lot more plausible, that level was significant resistence for a looooonnnnngg time.

A consolidation at the highs like this is just plain bullish for the POG. Surprise may be that the POG does not pull back and goes to 480. This would also be expected even if this was the end of the whole gold bull.
The CEF premium/discount indicator has been a pretty good one over the years and it implies a rally soon in gold shares.
