The reason why this thread works is that we are able to find humor in the investment logic of others. It was never intended, IMO, to be a vehicle for vitriol from the "let's take it outside" crowd. I'm not saying that the parties involved didn't have a perfect right to feel the way they did and write what they wrote, only that this particular thread didn't seem like the appropriate forum and that's why many "regulars" chose to keep on the sidelines. Now, if someone wants to create such a forum on SI, more power to them. - Jeff

i vote nay to your original moron nomination of Christine .... I never nominated Christine as a moron. I didn't weigh in here on the moron thread until Graystone nominated me. My response to him was "I will wear my nomination with pride."

your reaction here surprises me Why does it surprise you? It was obvious that Graystone wasn't making a normal "moron" nomination and that he was declaring a war. My initial response was in the spirit of the thread, but then Graystone escalated. And to put some context in this. I think it matters who is making specific accusations as to how one responds. Graystone made some pretty harsh accusations about me. If it was some idjit who has no credibility in the community, it is easy to shrug it off. However, when it is someone who has some credibility in the community, it is harder to just dismiss it. People who know me know the truth, but the people who do not know me now have someone who has credibility in the community saying that I was basically "sheering the sheap" on my threads. BTW: this is where graystone brought me into the fray on this thread. Message 20801614 you will notice that it really started on the "let's argue" thread.

i vote nay to your original moron nomination of Christine .... reason being that it fails established community standards of moronosity, in that it was not about some stupid scam stock, it had nothing to do with investment at all, it was just some political/social values issue psst, I nominated her it was a solid nomination by this thread's criteria: I thought it would be a good idea to start this thread for a few reasons, namely: 1) Many people act like total jerks throughout the threads. 2) Trying to point that fact out or reason with them in the threads where they behave that way just takes up space that is better left to the thread subject, not to mention irritating some other normally rational people, which , in turn, sometimes makes THEM into jerks. 3) It might be enjoyable to gab and gossip about all the examples of jerkness and jerkosity we find around SI right here. 4) This can become a central repository for all to come and relate their tales of jerk spottings, complete with links to specific posts, so that we may all enjoy together. 5) My ego made me do it. ~maybe there is some other moron thread that has stupid scam stock moron posting standards - but not here yes Graystone is be more pitied than feared but I don't think jorj feared him - jorj was maligned by graystone over and over again - graystone would not stop, he went from thread to thread linking it in a frenzy [you all saw it] I don't blame jorj for getting angry, no matter how mad the hatter or how false the message btw, your 'koala tea of Merci' was pretty lame but appreciated
