That's coming from an immunologist?. That's a field where everything has least two names, they can't even agree on what gets capitalized (Mab, mAb, MAb - who knows, and there are only eight combinations) and they have diagrams that make spaghetti look simple. <g>

Actually Rhodes goes into the social backgrounds of many of the scientists involved - it's not dry at all. Here's a page from the book describing the tongue-in-cheek theory that some of the Hungarian scientists were actually from Mars, and pretended to be from Hungary because of the accent:
