That sounds... good? There was one guy out on the river in his little boat. It was about 10am and the sun was bright, burning off the fog, and he was drifting out there with his rod out, trees and small patches of land jutting up here and there from the water and in the burning fog. It was such a sight. I think there must be someone who could describe how the late morning fog on the water with the sun glowing on it looks and feels but I can't. What a sight, though. At that moment, to me, he was the luckiest person in the world, just drifting out there in that.

Big freeze coming

It was in the 60's here today, sun shining. I finally got the lawn completely mowed -- this means mowing down all the bedding plants that will die back over the winter. Then I weed-whacked all the raised beds, and shoveled mulch into the wheelbarrow and mulched the beds. Put some nice river jack rocks around one of the beds. My wrists ache.

But it was nice to almost finish what needed to be done before it gets cold. I still have some irises to plant in the bed that never completely dries out unless there's a drought, and if I have time, more tulips. Should have time, the weather is predicted to be in the 50s for the next week.

Since the mulch was in front of the garage, I will be able to park my car in the garage this winter, too.

I see Cobe has already rubbed her good weather in your face. Dang. I wanted to be the first. We are going to get up to 69 today-- have had a beautiful week. I can't believe I have had to spend it in the windowless bowels of schools and the darkness of theatres. Very depressing. Wish I could send it your way since I can't enjoy it.
