Of course, neither is conclusive. Someone could tell you they are ignoring you, but that doesn't mean they are. Likewise, a blocked PM could mean they are (pending feature) blocking all PMs. That will depend on how Bob designs the "you can't do that" message.

I want to make sure I'm thinking the same two things you're talking about.

I've already implemented PM ignore except that it's still possible to reply to an existing PM if you're ignored, right?

And the pending feature you're referring to is the ability to block all PMs?

Can you or anyone else tell me why we need that feature? And need it enough to justify the (admittedly small) extra overhead of checking yet another field prior to allowing a PM to be started or displaying the "Send a Private Message" link in profiles?
