Laz...looking at those numbers it appears Clinton did NOT have surpluses in his last years in office.

Can you break those numbers down for myself and others to explain why he was apparently (INCORRECTLY) credited with surpluses by ALL the media, (even FOX I believe)?

I would think that at least ONE of the media outlets, (Rush maybe?) would have pointed out the deception.

Your simply splitting hairs. Clinton came mighty close to balancing the budget. He certainly went in the right direction. By some ways of accounting he had a surplus.

Under Bush the deficit has ballooned mostly due to ill conceived tax cuts that went in large part to the rich. Bush is going in the wrong direction.

It’s pure politics. Of course people find tax cuts popular. Just about anyone wants more money in the pocket. But it’s not good government.

Bush is expanding the deficit because he can get away with it - it's too complex an issue for the average voter to care about (that’s my guess).
