<<I suspect the(re) will be litigation>>

One can only hope. This a textbook example of why individ investors have to stay on their toes 24/7.

The stock gets bid up from 26 to 65 in less than a month on virtually no news, they offer 5 million shares at 60 (existing shelf), the offering closes, then they send a PR out saying "our offering closed. oh, by the way, Chevron nixed an equity role in Sabine." oh yes, the release came out last night at about 9:30 Eastern.

Last I saw: 32 employees and a market cap last week 3/4ths that of Ford? No thanks; I'll play LNG through Sempra (SRE).

jim p, you saw this one coming, didn't you?

If they read and understood the prospectus, they were warned.
They were never promised that CVX would invest in the Sabine project. Even the press releases said that they were only in talks. Well CVX listened politely to Cheniere's pitch and said thanks, but no thanks.

I suppose if you could prove that Cheniere knew that the talks were off and sat on this material news until the secondary closed you would have a good case.

This is a link to the letter.
sec.gov
As you can see it is dated the 6th. But Cheniere claims they didn't see it before 5pm on the 8th. No phone calls, no emails, no faxes, a complete surprise. And if you believe that, there is a bridge deal I can get you in on.
