I will take the other side of the drug advertisemnet discussion.

I knew 3 people, all college educated, making good money, on a good health plan, who had seasonal allergies which were strong enough for them them to miss work.

Allegra or Claratin would have been of immense benefit to them - and to their employer. Possibly some economic gain to society.

I talked to these guys, they were slow to pick up on the new drugs.

The repetition of advertising might help get through.
