QS: I havent followed AMD for years but when I did their TRACK RECORD for getting silicon out the door was AWFUL. Unless you are referring to the JANITOR. jdn

I don't think things are as unbalanced as you portray. Microprocessor makers have a long history of leapfrogging each other, and I think that will continue. The big push in R&D at Sun is beginning to bear fruit in the software arena; hardware has a somewhat longer lead time, but can be expected to follow.
