Hello Malcolm, <<Malaysia ... Chinese ... 35 years ago ... riot ... murder>>

(A bit of something in cheek) ...

Fear not. China is practicing what needs to be by sending 'Contractors' to Sudan.

Malaysia is a lot closer to the Coming Reality, squished between Burma Schema and Thai Convolution.

Besides, Regime Change, preemptive and otherwise, is now allowed, especially of nations with lots of buildings sporting a odd-shaped dome.

So, invest. The Currency Space is right.

Besides, as the Titanic is surely sinking, we must run somewhere, and to make sure we survive, everywhere.

:0)

Chugs, Jay

A much bigger one was in Indonesia where almost 500,000 "accused communists" killed in 1965-66 and the event was made into a movie "The Years of Living Dangerously". It also made the top 30 Worst Atrocities of the 20th Century (see link at the bottom).

A most recent one in Indonesia was the riot, rape and pillage of 1998. It was the ending of a dark chapter of a regime, but the Chinese were victimized once more.

The 1965 incident was racially motivated under the guise of anti-communism but perpetrated against the Chinese merchant class. It was a precursor to the subsequent rule by a US friendly Suharto who raped the economy to stagnation for about three decades, and very much like what Marcos did to the hillippines.

Another anti-Chinese merchant flared up again in 1998 when Suharto's gang of goons caused riots for their last chance of pillage and plunder of Chinese merchants' establishments plus physical rapes of the Chinese women, and all that took place before Suahrto had to step down from power. I think Megawati Soekarno Putri won the election. Goods from Chinese merchants' stores were hauled off in trucks, military trucks. Typical riots would be done by individuals on foot. Not so in the 1998 "riot" when pianos were hauled off in trucks. See link below.

In this year's election, the Muslim cleric candidate (former vice prez) acknowledged the importance of Chinese merchants to the country's economy. The eventual winner, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has a PhD and knows well the importance of the Chinese merchant class and is the backbone of the country's economy.

These events only show how the mass population can be so brainwashed by the one in power and in this case, it was one of their own kind and they got raped at the same time for nearly three decades.

It's also another example of the accomplishment of US raised and trained dictator in the past 5 decades.

Here is one ironic twist:

In late 1960's, the Chinese were forced to change their names to Indonesian names to show loyalty or whatever association as native person. A few did not change their name. Move forward 40 years to today. When they (Indonesian) apply for a US visa, those with Indonesian name has to wait several months whereas those with Chinese names get the visa in a few days.
